Is your child always hooked to computer games or glued to TV? Well, now they might just leave this habit with the help of new playground.
Icon playground, the futuristic centre blending traditional outdoors play with new media, has won the 2011 Australian International Design Award.
Its Danish creators Kompan have plans to bring the Icon playground to other states, said the marketing development manager Christian Schwerdtfeger.
It’s going to be the future of play, the Sydney Morning Herald quoted him as saying.
You’ve got the beauty of outdoor play – in which kids can run around and interact and be motivated to move – and also have the digital world. We’re encouraging kids to get out more, move faster and become more intelligent, increasing their gaming capabilities, but also getting out and tackling obesity as well, he added.
